Digital Impressions
In most cases, before a patient receives Veneers, dentures or a crown, Dr. Di Lauri takes an impression of their teeth and bite. This way, he can design the restoration or prosthetic in a way to ensure it fits securely and looks natural. Back in the day, the only way to capture this impression was by having a patient literally bite into a mold filled with dental putty to create a physical model. As you can imagine, this approach was often uncomfortable and messy.
Fortunately, we can now generate a perfect impression in a matter of minutes just by scanning a patient’s mouth using a small device that’s barely bigger than a pen. There’s no more putty, no cleanup, and no time wasted with retakes. The process takes about five minutes in total, and you’ll be able to see your impression on a nearby monitor immediately. This format also means our team can instantly send the information to our lab so they can start creating your restoration or prosthetic without delay.
